la glasses

i love this article on tumbleweeds handcraft featured on etsy...

not only do i love the glasses (and the blog), but its sweet how they seem to have so much fun together as partners...

i shared a booth at the craft fair a couple weekends ago (my booth-partner's space below)...

and sold the below belt to a booth neighbor....

its nice to spend time with people who make things...

but, even though we aren't a husband-wife leatherworking team with pet alligators, i wouldn't trade a second of our partnership, even when he tells me my poorly-maintained leg hair situation makes me look like i have mange...yup, even though.

Hanging out in Berkeley

Been busy with all kindsof things, backpacking followed by a couple of days in flowery Berkely...
checked out some punk rock localities...

tortured Sue the dog with city life and miles of street walking...

and saw pretty pretty buildings...

i don't like photographing when we are backpacking because the photos never truly represent what it feels like to be in the vanilla-smelling wilderness, but I have more photos of things to share soon.

coral-ish?

Done, and about to be made into a clutch...

but i am starting to wonder if i actually know what the coral IS anymore (warm dusty pink, light pinkish orange red--color science class flashbacks!!!)...

tracking down a friend, i discovered the museum she works for has uploaded stockpile of fabric swatches for your pleasure.

chromatography

my desire for warm weather is further manifesting itself, from my color pallet to designed objects...

  putikmade pots, made in LA

it seems everything i find engaging is in southern California lately...

Los Angeles Needlework

and there was even a Yarn Crawl advertised in the LA Times...

Coral Tree, Santa Monica

luxuries such as this are most desirable at the present moment, but there is plenty of fun to be had thinking about coral (inspired by above tree): i never thought much about polyps and how i have never really seen the ORGANISM, only the beautiful super exoskeleton ...

rikshaw designs, great kurtas, love the sandals
but transitioning from biology to chromatography, i think i am going to make something with the color coral today (get back into sandals?), which is definitely a typical warm-beachy color and can easily be used for evil...but in moderation, it can be very lovely...i remember i got this coral sweater when i was little because i puked all over my shirt at the mall, so my mom had to buy me a new one (great trick, huh?)... i really liked the coral sweater she came back with, but when i wore it to school, someone made fun of it...i vaguely remember someone ironically describing it as the color of puke, which is probably just my mind grasping for some ironic end to the story, but oh well...

Essence-of-Humboldt
Essence of Humboldt always seems to make good use of the color, and she is organizing a craft show in Trinidad on May 6th, it should be a swell time.
